Champagne Tuesdays

Last night (1/02/11) myself and Ray broke away from our traditional routine and headed to the Pitcher and Piano in Brindley Place, suited and booted in swanky dresses and high heels, to indulge in a celebratory tipple to toast our recent successes.

And what might these successes be, I hear you ask. Well, I've only gone and passed the 1,000 hit mark here on Twenty-one and Invincible! Yes, the other day I logged on to find my stats were now at a substantial 1,055 page views...and all the while rising. I'm chuffed to bits if I'm honest, I've only been chattering away on here for the last 3 months but I have regular followers from as far and wide as Romania, Germany and Singapore - to name but a few.

So thank you to all those who read my blog. When I first started this, I had no idea that it would appeal to as many of you as it seems to...I thought I'd be the only one who ever read it! So I shall keep on blogging away on here, and hopefully you'll all keep coming back for more. Here's to the next thousand ay?

We were also toasting to our recent successes professionally, as both myself and Ray have been undertaking work placements this past week. As you may have read, I worked in the editorial department of the Birmingham Post & Mail last week, and Ray is currently working at Big Bear Records as their press officer - which just so happens to be the place I spent three months of my summer last year.

I received a really thoughtful email from the Mail's content editor Andy Richards on Tuesday, praising me for my work ethic and approach to my professional conduct. He said, and I quote:

You impressed me with your desire to learn, your organisational skills and your quiet confidence.

So can I get a hoorah for that please? Why thank you. I'm still waiting to hear back about when the rest of my articles will be getting published, but I will keep you updated.

Ray is currently heading up a rather successful PR campaign involving Britain's Got Talent runner-up Julian Smith. Big Bear Music have recently signed him and they are now trying to break him in America. Piers Morgan is said to be a fan, so Ray has been tweeting the good gentleman herself on behalf of the company, and is hoping to see Julian performing on Piers' new chat show in the near future.

Ray is also blogging about her life these days too. She is new to the process, but progressing well. You can read all about my other, other half on her blog "The Life of A Pee-Pod".

It is the best feeling when you have really achieved something. When you have worked so hard, and finally get the recognition for it. Personal gain, self improvement or however else you wish to term it, it all combines to serve a greater purpose...and we we're both left feeling like we truly had a reason to celebrate. So out came the (£18) champers and we were away with the frivolity!

As much as I love Cheeky Thursdays, I could definitely get used to a few more of these Champagne Tuesdays. So, we would like to raise a toast to the start of what is looking to be a very successful year...cheers my loves!
